Inside the learning loop

Environments
built to your
requirements.

Custom RL environments for post-training teams. We turn your specifications into tasks, runtimes, graders, and verification evidence, so you can assess each delivery against agreed acceptance criteria.

Our commitment / AI safety

Our commitment
to AI safety.

We are committed to AI safety. That commitment shapes how we build environments, design rewards, and evaluate AI systems.

We test for unintended shortcuts, challenge systems with adversarial cases, and make results reproducible so teams can find failures and understand limitations. Our goal is to support safer, more reliable AI through careful engineering and evidence.

How we put this into practice ↓

01 / Engineering

The machinery
behind the measurement.

For post-training teams that need reproducible, gradable tasks built around their runtime, interface, packaging, and acceptance requirements.

01.1

Environments
with a purpose.

Turn a target capability into a precise task, containerized runtime, executable reference solution, and repeatable packaging process.

01.2

Rewards that measure
the right thing.

Build objective graders and reward curves that distinguish levels of capability. Probe edge cases and repair paths that reward an unintended shortcut.

01.3

Failure, examined
before delivery.

Stress-test environments against frontier agents and independent solutions. Trace failures back to assumptions, then deliver the repaired environment with CI and QA evidence.

01.4

Data with
a paper trail.

Source training and evaluation data with documented provenance, licensing, usage constraints, and quality controls. Explore our scholarly catalog ↗

02 / In the workshop

Make the assumptions
executable.

The work begins with a question: what would count as evidence that a model can actually do this?

INPUT / Constraints & capability

Define the world.

Translate the client contract into an explicit specification: runtime, task shape, grader interface, and acceptance criteria.

PROCESS / Reference & reward

Build the signal.

Implement the reference solution, baselines, and objective grader. Calibrate a reward curve to the behavior you want to measure.

OUTPUT / Package & evidence

Try to break it.

Let agents find weaknesses. Repair the task, repeat the checks, and package the exact deliverable with an auditable record.

WORKING EXAMPLE / Environment verification

Delivery requirements,
made testable.

Our verification pipeline checks environment packages against a defined contract and returns concrete findings. We adapt the checks and reporting to your delivery requirements.

Rejected. Identifies the missing file and the required correction.
Complete sample package
Accepted for intake. Required package structure is present.

Intake acceptance is the first check. Interface behavior, reward calibration, leakage risks, and evaluation evidence are assessed in later stages.

What does
capable mean?

Our research examines the assumptions behind measurements of machine capability, from benchmark selection to the complexity of the tasks themselves.

01 / Selection

Instruction Entropy

Read the research ↗

An exploratory study of benchmark-selection bias across 156 decomposed requirements and a 57-task final sample.

Evidence of selection toward lower-coordination tasks; the proposed nonlinear coordination penalty was not confirmed.

02 / Measurement

Accepted at NeurIPS 2026 · Evaluations & Datasets Track.

A reproducible study of prompt-side complexity: 5,000 prompts, 21 models, and 105,000 code generations with isolated unit-test scoring.

Also recognized with second place in UWM's 2026 undergraduate research competition.

03 / Experiment

Complexity Ladder

Research design in progress

An experimental follow-up that holds each task family's semantic core fixed while assigning four rungs of structural complexity.
